    Nina Ricci F/W 07-08

Olivier Theysken makes clothes for a more beautiful world.

The softness of this is heartbreaking.

The set and the man himself who, I would like to point out (mainly for nambla's benefit), is long-haired, suitably fit, and quite handsome (in a "not made for this world" kind of way)

Sorry the formatting of the pics is so screwy....[*-)]

What an amazing collection. I wouldn't expect less of him, he is extremely talented. And when I think how young he is (still), I am happy that fashion has him and will have him for many years to come. I just wish someone gave Jurgi Persoons an opportunity to design too. Oh well.

EDIT: Just thought about his talent in another way; this, Rochas, and his own work are completely different, but everything he touches turns to gold. What a smart move on Nina Ricci's part!

I hope they price this collection right. Not too many people can pay $4k for a suit. I am positive we will see this at Barneys - can't wait!

I honestly got emotional just looking at this. I can't imagine wearing any of it, but I'm so happy that it exists.

The knits really capture the mood of the collection for me--very strong and soft, sort of melancholy...

I think the prices will be comparable to Alaia. You will have to go with me to Barney's, because I might get all teary. [:$]

/\ haha, ok, you can cry on my shoulder.

I am not sure it will be a good move to price this collection so high. I mean, it didn't work for Rochas, why should it work for NR? Especially in the US, noone gives a crap about her, but people do about Theyskens.

but i agree with you faust. i wish jurgi had been given a chance as well. we could have seen some amazing stuff from him if he had had backing. poor jurgi.

Yea, it really is sad. He disappeared and noone even sounded the alarm (except Scott on tFS)

Oh the yellow gown is nice. It's good that he hasmoved a bit away from the preciousness in Rochas, and played less attention tofloor length gowns. It's younger looking isn't it.

Thank you for posting the pics. I don't know much history about the designer.

Beautiful gown/dresses. I really like the hairy sweater too. Looks like roots wrap around the body.
