    Good Found =)

There is a thread on 'Good Finds', but I was wondering what purchases members have already "found" that they are most proud of and where. Like the elusive LMaltieri cardigan found at Barney's Warehouse by Faust...hehe

btw...let me know if the subjectneeds changing...hehe

Hahaha, I like the sound of that title. But I suspect that every "Good Found" will probably be listed in "Recent Purchases"....

        Ok, I'll brag.

        That memorable Barneys warehouse sale:

LMaltieri 12-ply overdyed cashmere cardigan $150, retail $2200

        LUC 8-ply 3-D cashmere sweater, $120, retail $1200

        Ebay:

Rick Owens burnt lambskin jacket $440, retail $2200

Margiela biker jacket $500, retail $2000 (although people who bought on Yoox did better)

Poell cotton pants with displaced side seams, $49 - retail not sure, probably $600

        Century 21:

Cloak FW04 flight jacket that people will to kill their babies for - $250 (I think retail at the time was $850)

        Consignment:

Margiela heavy knit sleevless cardigan - $100, retails for $600 these days.

        YOOX:

LMaltieri heavy cotton pants, $100 - retail not sure, probably around $700

Poell cotton pants with piping, $80 - retail not sure, probably around $600

        Outlets:

Dior raw denim jeans - $59, retail $300

Dior distressed blue jeans from Luster - $99, retail $500

Maybe this will make those who think we are all trust fund babies here shut the fuck up? [^o)]

holy shit! those are amazing finds faust. were the yoox finds from a few years ago? seems like yoox caught on to the real 'value' on those brands.

nah... it's because yoox was much harder to navigate before so items would get "lost" so if you knew about them early in the game they'd make it to 90%+ discounts... the good ol' days..

Pristine black cotton poell suit for 300ish. That was on ebay a couple years back. Also have scored some great yoox v.1 bargains. The perfect black cotton slacks (also poell) 100.00 come to mind. Still kick myself for letting slide all sorts of great stuff I snoozed on even after it had dropped to gap (sale) prices.

Asymmetrical wool Raf Simons trousers from 2001 with pleats down one side at the back. Bought from a German Ebay seller in perfect condition for £8. I love twists like that, which really work to create a novel, flattering silhouette. They are still my favourite trousers 2 years later. I am always on the hunt for Raf AW items from 1998-2001. Beautiful collections.

Woo, hard to follow up Faust's list!

Over the years I've picked up Dior Homme items for retardedly low prices... a Follow Me patterned tank for $7, boots for $25, blazer for $300, solitaire suit for $375... polo for $15.

                          More recently:

                          CDiem black leather shirt- $600

                          CDiem rear lace boots- $450

                          Lmaltieri neck warmer- $150

Linea jacket (a bit of work needed to make it a jacket buuuut)- $300ish

Albert, some of your dior finds were through some tactical ebay searching, no? I got lucky a few times that way. I used to have the saved search 'dior -(christian)' which taps the sellers who read 'dior' on the label and list it as such, so people searching 'dior homme' never discover it. I also figured out hardly anyone clicks the 'search listings in other languages' link. People on SZ seem to be saavy to that. Or if you had way too much time on your hands 'christian dior' would also uncover pearls. Moreso when the brand was not so well known (now your average person mostly know what it's called and not that it matters now anyway). I'm sure Kdog has had listings (and potential bargains) no one has ever seen. I know one time he listed a garment as dior hoome.
