Your company isn't fashionable enough to command high prices!!!
Re: Your company isn't fashionable enough to command high prices!!!
I found it more amusing that half of the comments were about the bag and not about the point of the blog entry - people's lack of even minute attention span is truly amusing.
The entry is self is blah, he doesn't say anything that hasn't been beaten to death. Unless I missed some subtler point, Fuuma.

I think the whole point is that there is nothing deep in it, the person only seems to aknowledge the extrinsic value of an items with total disregard for what is is (construction, materials, design), effectively holding a position that is in total opposition to what, I assume, pretty much everyone in here believes. We're talking about someone who seems to see fashion as being 100% positional goods, effectively bringing commodity fetichism to heights I never realized existed in people who take the time to write about such things.

I just thought of something else, Fuuma. Did it catch your attention because the guy was talking about Henry Beguelin, as opposed to Louis Vuitton? As in, "he should know better since he's discussing a niche brand?" In that case, I think he just probably stumbled upon it browsing a Barney's website
