What's Going On In Your Town?

figure this would be a good thread to let people know of good events in your city.

    some shows in NYC:

    Saturday December 1st @ 66 HOPE STREET

    :: Jack Rose

:::: Black Twigs ----> members of Pelt

    [ 66 HOPE STREET ]

66 HOPE ST @ Havemeyer St | Williamsburg, Brooklyn

    L-Lorimer, G-Metropolitan, JM-Marcy | 8PM | $7+ donation | ALL AGES

    shows at other music:

    Tuesday 11/27 @ 8 pm: THE CLEAN

This is the Clean's first NYC performance in years, on the eve of their

upcoming run at the Cake Shop. As far as we can tell, this band

invented indie rock, and their songs are indelible to the very fabric of

    Other Music.

    Wednesday 11/28 @ 8pm: TINARIWEN

This is a rare and special performance that has the OM staff as

excited as we've been in some time. Tinariwen's raw desert blues

began to come together close to 30 years ago in the south Sahara,

and through war, drought, and famine the group has been a strong

voice for the people of Mali. Since being "discovered" in 2001 at the

first Festival in the Desert, Tinariwen has released three great CDs to

international acclaim on World Village, and this year's Aman Iman
    will

undoubtedly top a lot 2007 best-of lists. Their performances are

legendary, and we hope you can join us on Wednesday! Tinariwen is

also playing Tuesday night at the Highline Ballroom.

    Friday 11/30 @ 9pm: CELEBRATION

After two old-timers, we're thrilled to present one of our favorite new

bands. Celebration's sophomore release, The Modern Tribe on 4AD,

has been one of the more interesting new albums this year, and while

their live shows (and front-woman Katrina Ford) have been raved

about on all the blogs, we're thinking that in the confines of our little

shop they will really show their stuff. Also catch the band Wednesday

    at the Bowery Ballroom.

And two more fun ones next week:

    JUST ADDED!!!

    Monday 12/3 @ 8pm: RICHARD HAWLEY

We've just confirmed this one, the great Richard Hawley will be doing

a special acoustic set next Monday at the shop. A different look at this

dynamic performer after his Bowery show on Saturday.

    Thursday 12/6 @ 8pm: WHITE WILLIAMS

Smoke has been a best-seller at the download store and in the shop

since its release a few weeks back, and this dark, beat-driven glam-

pop works even better on stage. Definitely a new artist to watch!

i think you should take her to atelier and tell her that you're buying her a gift in a size 46 ;) OR you can take her to a concert again.

I went to the Patti Smith show a few years ago -- she is great, but the crowd was so lame. We had fun though. It was on my birthday, and at one point Patti just says, "I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my friend, Ann Demeulemeester!" [:O][:|] Could we be connected in more ways?!
