Rick Owens feature in the latest i-D magazine

sorry guys but no pics or scans either as i just flipped through the magazine at the bookstore. There's a pretty lengthy article and interview with Rick about his design philosophy and his career...one thing that really struck me was how Rick mentions he envisions his ideal wearer as someone who is (paraphrased) "experienced, has lived an interesting life, been there and done that and no longer feels the need to be cool..." Yeah, I can see those characteristics being translated into someone wearing Rick's clothes with character. Sometimes I feel the same way about Yohji's clothing as well. Also like how he says he is content with everyday people wearing his clothes to go about life instead of being concerned about designing for celebrities and red carpets.

Another interesting point brought up in the article is he was at Karl Lagerfeld's house, Karl had him try on a Thom Browne blazer and Rick said it felt awkward because that clothing wasn't him at all. LOL would've loved to see that.

If someone has this magazine, please feel free to scan the article on here, thanks.

I though this was great, too. It seems he is very real, down to earth, and very human. I am happy that this man takes pride in keeping the artistic integrity of what he does. And the bit about getting his mum in on the model castings was cute.

Ok, I am about to do something I haven't done in about a year or so - buy a magazine. Junya + Rick = $10. Thanks, Matt and Avantster.

I'll go blind reading that, so I will stop by B&N tonight to read it.

yes, it was the bit about being human and embracing imperfections and all that I really resonated with. Too bad the clothes aren't for me - i find a lot of Rick to be quite unapproachable, at least from my own style standpoint. But i definitely appreciate the man's work.

Lucky man. That should leave you about $5,000 richer after this season.

don't think so. yohji prices > rick's prices.

Is this magazine sold in Los Angeles, if you know.
It has been a very difficult year

i-D magazine? it has to be...it was sold in Ann Arbor, Michigan, don't see why they wouldn't have it in LA. Just hit up any Barnes & Noble...
