    Digital Watches

I love the new Tokyoflash. Any other cool digital watches you can recommend?

The one thing I could never give up is the artistry of a mechanical watch.

I would never give that up, if I could afford one in the first place.

I must say, I felt nostalgic and bought a Casio calculator watch to keep time since I started teaching (used my cell phone before that).

Typically a watch (Stowa, Sinn, Nomos) via www.watchbuys.com is a pretty good bang/buck in terms of quality and design in the $1,000-$2,500 price range.

If not, spending $700-$1,000 for a vintage watch can really offer some satisfaction.

as far as digital goes, the only one I like is an oldschool casio

grabbed one on ebay for $30, but to be honest I hardly ever use it. my daily watch isa custom made mechanical knock-off Panerai which I love, almost like the real thing ;)

I'm with the notion that one either spends $50 on a watch or a few thousands? but nothing in between.

That being said, there are some good buys in the vintage watch dept (Hamilton, etc).

It really depends on what you are going for. I think that mentality is perhaps for the layman and not the WIS?

I could see someone wearing a "cool" Fossil watch for a few bucks because they couldn't afford a $5,500 Rolex and don't want to spend $1,200 on a Nomos (which their friends wouldn't know of).

This is my vintage 1950's Longines Mystery Dial for that Thom Browne/Atomic Era look.
