    New H.Lorenzo opening in LA

I think the building is pretty cool, actually. Another place 2koponsale? And, Cas, a private entrance for you and Jude, my friend! [<:o)]

Long-time designer retailer H. Lorenzo, with three boutiques at Sunset Plaza, is expanding to greener pastures at 474 North Robertson Boulevard, just south of Melrose, with its new 4,000-square-foot eco-concept boutique HLNR, slated to open Mid-April (rendering shown above). Rather than the merch, what's environmentally conscious here is the shopping experience?solar-paneled
roof, paperless receipt system, eco-hangers and shopping bags, and
(watch out!) low-volume flush toilets in the bathroom. The labels at
HLNR will be similarly high-end to other H. Lorenzo boutiques, stocking
Zac Posen, Ann Demeulemeester, Balmain, Comme Des Garcons, Preen,
Veronique Branquinho, Viktor & Rolf, Junya Watanabe, Dsquared,
Yohji Yamamoto, Marc Jacobs Shoes and Chloe Shoes. In a statement,
owner Lorenzo Hadar said he chose to open on Robertson because "this is where the fashion nucleus in L.A. has shifted.
Nowadays the fashion elite who come here to shop are people who care
about the environment." Enough said coming from an LA retailer who's
run a successful business for 23 years. Another exciting draw is the
13-space parking lot, and for VIPs, a private entrance.

Yea, saw that, it looks very cool! I like the concept of no receipts to cut back on paper usage. Will probably work something like the Apple stores in that they will just email you the receipt.

Honestly speaking, I had no clue H Lorenzo was big enough, or that popular to open such a store. (You would think they could at least update their shit website!)

But Robertson is definitely where a lot of boutique stores are...and Maxfield. There's still a gap here in LA though but most of comes from all of these stores not having very good customer service. A shadows all of these stores in comparison.

What a joke, that's right near maxfield. Fashion nucleus? You gotta be kidding me. H Lorenzo has and always will be a wannabe maxfield.

The sunset store is a mess from the lack of focus in their lines, buys, customer service, staff, location, prices. I don't even know where to begin.

Is this supposed to be an outlet for them?

no, but usually disarray and cluelessness result in good deals.

Store looks cool and is much better in concept than any of its flashy neighbours. Well, regarding customer service ,it is completely different story and that too, a bad one.

an outlet eh? never knew about that!

in any case, my relationship with H.Lorenzo is mostly love-hate. I love *some* of the designers they carry? The Viridi-Anne, Attachment, Paul Harnden, etc. however, i'm definitely not a fan of the service and the pricing blows...

odd that they're opening on Robertson...isn't that where Maxfield is? From the list of brands it sounds like a Maxfield-lite...don't think this is a very wise business decision.

I believe the outlet is the site of the new store. They shut it down to accommodate the new building. Construction has begun as far as I know.

Its not going be an outlet store anymore. They wish to open it up as the new flagship store instead. Which is why they are pouring in more money on the structural design in the facility. Its grand opening will be officially be commenced in the next 2 weeks. There is a mailing list you can sign up for if you want to be informed about it. Just give them a call.
