A Video Interview with Martin Greenfield

Probably the oldest tailor with his own operation in New York City, and one of the very few successful old-school businesses that hasn't been outsourced to a third world country. He seems like a warm person. [51]

      Thanks for posting.

This is the best 'fashion' related mini documentary I've watched in a long time. Honest and open without trying to be artsy or over-the-top. It's a real shame that there aren't more tailors like Martin.

I wonder if Philip Roth knows him. Could be a partial inspiration for American Pastoral.

This was a very well done video.

The part where Mr. Greenfield spoke about the time it takes to become a tailor (a sort of past time or old economy profession) versus the time it takes to become a professional in a more modern sense--I believe the example he used was computer programming--really got me thinking.

Are there any other videos like this one?

Watched this before and I forgot to comment. Thanks for the link, Faust.

I would like to meet more people like him.

let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.
