    converse toe box ironing

I love Converse, but I have always found the toeboxes to be a little bulbous, so I decided to see what I could do to flatten them

What I did was simply place a wet facecloth (so nothing burned/melted together) over the toeboxes of the black/mono hi-tops and iron for a few minutes. I suppose if you wanted a specific shape you could stuff the toes with some kind of wadding, or just iron longer for a slimmer toe shape. After ironing I placed an piece of wood over top of the wet washcloth on the toes of the shoes, threw a bunch of old books on top and let them dry for 20 minutes or so. It's definitely low-rent, but I think the subtly different shape is much more pleasing.
