    R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Yo, he was a great performer and I'm glad I got to see him in his heyday.
    Bye Mike!

This should be an up-to-date, obituary thread; For, 'The souls of the departed.' Specifically, earnest men and women we respect.

      Not, limited to Michael Jackson.

      As, before...

"I was wandering in the rain; Mask of life, feelin insane.
Swift and sudden fall from grace.
      Sunny days seem far away.

On and on and on it came, wish the rain would just let me.

How does it feel (how does it feel)
      How does it feel
      How does it feel
      When youre alone,
      And youre cold inside.

      Here abandoned in my fame,
      Armageddon of the brain.
Take my name and just let me be.

Then a begger boy called my name,
Happy days will drown the pain.
On and on and on it came,
And again, and again, and again...

Take my name and just let me be.

How does it feel (how does it feel)
      How does it feel
      How does it feel
      How does it feel
      How does it feel
      When youre alone,
      And youre cold inside.

      Like stranger...Were talkin danger."

I can't fucking believe it... Michael was one of those guys that you knew was just going to be around for a long long time. Antics and quirks aside, this man produced some bad ass music and danced his heart out.

To go out literally weeks before the start of what was to be an epic performance run is such a shame.

I never thought about it before but I'm actually a sad to know that he has passed away.

To be honest I'm a bit happy. From that interview he did with that English reporter, and of course the fiasco of the trial, along with his financial troubles, I got the feeling he was very unhappy. If that's so, I imagine he's at peace now.

This is so tragic. His death is being compared to that of Elvis and Lennon and rightfully so. Truly one of a kind. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn't like at least one or two Michael Jackson songs.

Can't believe it. Somehow, you think some people will be around forever. And just when I got the tickets to see him live for the first time... R.I.P. Michael.

it would be funny if he faked his death so he can get out of the debt, and be lazy and dont have to do the concerts.
or maybe the concerts will still go with Michael lookalikes, and when the thriller comes on, the real Michael will emerge as a zombie

                              RIP MJ

You gotta see this performance at Motown 25 if you haven't seen it before. This was the first time he did the Moonwalk live, it was in 1983,he was 24 years old, and his swag is off the charts.
This video here from later on shows him doing some robot and moonwalking and is another example of what an amazing talent and entertainer he was.
I still remember watching him perform at half-time of the 1993 NFL super bowl between the cowboys and bills, when I was only 6 years old. It was the first time in history that the half-time show had more viewers than the actual game and 135 million Americans watched.
