BSR and I are proud to announce the launch of www.fashionology.org, a new website dedicated to a critical point of view on fashion (see the Manifesto on the home page).
Its aim is to offer an in-depth analysis of avant-garde designers, and to be the living memory of all kinds of valuable information regarding fashion designers.
I've always considered the internet as a huge blackhole were eveything disappears as soon - or almost - as it is published, be it worth or not.
So, we've imagine this place to be the one where interesting content will be gathered and easily available, like articles, but all the collections of the designers as well. Thus we've started, for example, to build a catalogue raisonne of all the available CCP pictures.
This site is a work in progress and a collective work, and has gathered people who didn't know each other in real life before and met all via the internet : BSR, Mail-Moth, Miloo (France), Fuuma (Canada), Avantster (Australia), Mr Beuys (England). It is an open place, where everyone who is willing to contribute will be welcome.
A small forum (the smallest forum of the world actually) is connected to the site, with no risk of competition or overlap with SZ, since the place is only meant to be one to discuss articles and reviews. Two are already online; an article about Damir Doma, and the review of the last FW Julius show. The best part of the discussions will be copied and pasted at the end of each article, to fight against the internet's natural tendency to oblivion.
We have added a French touch to it, i.e. something we truly believe in : a personal galleries thread, that exists nowhere on English forums, but offers, as far as we've experienced it, an interesting place to see the evolution of one's style, and to discuss it.
Hope you'll enjoy.
