Y-3 Fall 2010 runway exclusives

Here are some looks from the Y-3 Yohji Yamamoto / Adidas collaboration. The underlying theme is "prison break" with lots of draping wool, minimal branding, and a sport/ street functionality.
All shots here are featuring the Y-3 Los angeles staff.

I don't find anything of interest here. »63 Years in Love – 68« is kind of fun, but I would never wear a piece like that.

Shoes are absolutely hideous, the only pieces that seem vaguely interesting are the first dress / skirt and the scarf / hood.

Okay, I didn't get even that. I didn't see the 60, and I didn't care for the follow-up »20 Years in Prison« etc. The – as you say – »joke« isn't that funny, no. If this is »minimal branding« it yet is branding.

Yeah, there is one at Melrose. I actually happened to be there last weekend. The more subtly branded pieces are actually not bad at all IMO, and I can see them meshing very well with YYPH and Y's items. Specifically, I saw a couple drop crotch pants with very minimal Y-3 labelling that I was actually considering trying on. That being said, there are still substantial number of items with blatant branding, 3 stripes and big bold "Y-3" prints.

its not bad at all, especially the skirt (if it is a skirt separate) in the first and second pictures (i think there was a similar CDG one, and i just saw a PH one with similar draping but in a heavier material), but what the picture shows is probably the 'best of' - the rest of the collection is probably still sprinkled liberally with Y3Y3Y3Y3Y3..
