    Trussardi 1911 mens Men's FW11 Pitti Uomo

GQ says: "The Vibe for Fall 2011:
Milan Vukmirovic, creative director of the 100-year old Trussardi dynasty, designed a centennial fall collection that took the well-known craftsmanship of the luxury house to a whole new level. Every—yes, every— piece of clothing is made of leather. The white V-neck tees drape like jersey in leather that's paper-y thin; a corduroy-like cowhide is used for a jean-style jacket; and the sweat pants bring it home with butter-soft suede that resembles fleece. Look closely and you will see the genius of a label that has its roots firmly planted for at least another 100 years."

    That's a lot of leather.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

I agree, Eternal. This is the most interesting so far. I think this is the best thing from MV since his underappreciated early collections for Jil Sander.

Put some of these pieces into a de-greased wardrobe, and you open real possibilities.

The leather tee is cool, I like the greys on one of the outfits as well. The rest are just too... Italian for me, i guess.

I fail to see anything new or interesting here. Apart from the white leather tee, everything is mediocre at best. The polished, euro feel is also somewhat of a turnoff. Reminds me of the quintessential sartorialist subject - maybe it works for some, but it seems to lack originality.

Eternal, the show was at Pitti Uomo, in Florence. It was fun.

Those raw cut reverse leather coats and blazers are actually pretty damn cool (could do without the wacky lapel sizes, though). A small handful of the more basic stuff is pretty inoffensive too.

I think that the "europe" feeling in many of the looks come from the models who are overly masculine rather than the outfit themselves.
The variation of texture especially on shirts is really interesting and a few of the coats being quite wearable.

I actually own a zip-front heavy wool vest from Trussardi 1911 that i picked up on a whim from Barney's last year when looking for something with a more formal shape and some interesting detail. Materials and construction are great but I can't say i've ever noticed anything else they've done. This collection certainly is interesting as an idea, and some of the pieces look wearable enough. Interested to at least handle the lighter weight stuff in person.

Maybe a bit too euro for this forum's taste, but I'm really liking Milan Vukmirovic's suit in the final picture. With slightly longer pants, it almost looks like something Lapo Elkan would wear if he joined SZ.
"He described this initial impetus as like discovering that they both were looking at the same intriguing specific tropical fish, with attempts to understand it leading to a huge ferocious formalism he characterizes as a shark that leapt out of the tank."

liking the suede belted coat very much indeed, surprisingly good!

                              Trussadi fired Vukmirovic today. Oops.
