fur is intense - she may finally convert heirloom

    otherwise overstyled and too theatrical.

Love the feather ammo belt and the lace-up accessories and the jackets and the leather and the silver jewelry and...

I think I could get on board with this. Still, weirdly I think it's less wearable than Gareth. I'm having a hard time picturing all this feathered stuff which the show was chock full of on the street. Yet I have no trouble with Gareth's sexy aliens walking around.

Still, who gives a fuck about the street. Maybe there'll be brave souls that will put it on and go out, full feather-style. I think it would be lovely.

    ^agreed.

at first glance this is fun to look at, but i find myself squinting through the explosion of styling to try and discern what might be strong pieces...

trying a bit too hard with that leather, imo. the same goes with those triple lace up tall boots she did a couple of seasons ago.

Haha. you know me well. That fur was the only thing I was feeling. I thought they were the most sophisticated styles except for that strange colourmixed one.

still as you said, overstyled indeed, and i've always seen lacing as something sterotypically goth and steampunky.

Gorgeous warrior elves! Was really looking forward to this after the strong mens show and as always this is a really beautiful Ann collection although, I was expecting some colour like the mens. A tad overstyled but I think once we see the individual pieces you'd see as usual a lot more wearable garmets and a lot less theatrical.

    No it really doesn't ...

    Such broad strokes and broadening.
She doesn't underline structure, she opens it up and pulls it out.
This is not to say there is no structure, it just doesn't suffice
    to contain the mass.

This has little to do with Gothic, you'll find that in Rick Owens or
    Gareth Pugh.

No need for squinting, I can see clearly ...

Are you afraid of women, Doctor?
    Of course.

i agree. rick owens is a modernist and gareth a futurist.

/\ Agreed as well. B-I, I don't see what's so wrong with and foul about Gothic to begin with. I always admired and found fascinating all the different interpretations of the Goth aesthetic, from Horace Walpole to Bauhaus and Nick Cave, "Mall Goths", Ann's work, etc. As proven by these photos, Goth is pure style.

Have I said there's anything wrong with it?

It's about broadening the perspective a little, the gothic doesn't
evolve around your hairdo. Think architecture, literature, paintings,
    philosophy etc. etc.

Only Ms. Demeulemeester could execute what are essentially fur suits and WOW armor and make them look (individually) wearable and beautiful. I agree on the over styling for a couple of the looks, but those layered, tailored looks at the end...
