Heralding the arrival of Frieze Art Fair to London, we are preparing our usual mix of enthralling activities and arresting events at Dover Street Market.


It is our boundless pleasure to welcome on Friday October 12th one of the world’s greatest living photographers, and one of the most wonderful people we know, Mr. René Burri, to celebrate a window installation by Comme des Garçons, showing a selection of his works, and to sign a collection of his books, both rare and new, in the basement at Idea Books. We will also have the launch of three CDG designed René Burri T-shirts, in very limited numbers, and available nowhere else in the world.


We also have the immense honour to hail the one and only Silvia Fendi, who will be with us from 6pm to 8pm to sign her new book “Baguette” ceremonializing one of the most popular accessories of the last 15 years. To mark the occasion there will be exclusive T-shirts and scarves for sale as well as stunning visual displays of limited edition works of art on the ground floor and the third floor.
William Welstead, the elegant and distinguished not to mention multi-talented gentleman, will be showing a selection of his latest stones as jewellery, together with a short film starring the equally elegant and distinguished Stella Tennant. William’s beautiful collection of hand loomed scarves from the Himalayas will also be available around the store.

We are proud to give hospitality to m_moria, in our opinion the incarnation of the most exquisite and deeply beautiful hand made shoes in existence with history and story entrenched within. Look for signs of it all over the store, and touch the real shoes in the cave in the basement.


Another undefinable uncategorizable creative artist Aitor Throup will be presenting a preview of his very first complete collection called “On the Effects of Ethical Stereotyping” in the event space and down the stairs towards it, and in the window in front of the stairs.

SOME/THINGS magazine will be presenting their sixth volume called The Dark Labyrinth which explores the future through the eyes of historic and contemporary visionaries.


Also, we are delighted to launch the third issue of StyleZeitgeist magazine, featuring substantial articles and unique photography, including an in depth article about Comme des Garçons perfume.


During these days of the glorification of the unrecapturable, we will be proposing many news items of collaboration and invigoration such as Adidas Originals X The Soloist, Nike x Undercover Gyakusou, Cole Haan’s enhancement of the Cooper Square and the LunarGrand wingtips and the blue cotton canvas shoes created by Warrior x Bonobos.

Burri could be a good addition to the next edition.
And Karl I have a soft spot for, mainly for his love of books and publishing.
Make sure you give him the 3 editions of SZ as they would fit perfectly into his vast library. And sign them just to show him who the boss is now.....

The event at DSM was amazing. Lots of people altogether, plenty of people who came for SZ, and of course some unforgettable guests of honor
