how can my arms be too short if i don't have this problem with other brands? it feels like only rick jackets can swallow the whole hand while being 1 size smaller than needed.

it looks awesome when the sleeve is considerably longer than on a classic jacket, i get it, but what i'm dealing with just doesn't look or feel right. they look like i'm wearing a size 54 when i actually need a 46.

It's the same for the models on the runway and lookbook, I think that's just what he's going for.

I had a Rick jacket taken in from a 46 to a 38, and one of the things that had to be done was shortening the sleeves a bit. My tailor removed them both fully, and shortened them in the armpit area before they were reattached to the body of the garment.

This was not a cheap job, of course, but the jacket was such a bargain anyway that I did not mind. And there is no visible evidence that all this work had been done!

FWIW, if you want any miracles worked, Superior Leather in NYC is the place to go.

Would you kindly mind telling me how much it cost (or PM if you don't wish to publicize it), as this is something I may be interested in doing. I've got a CCP Fencing jacket, which fits perfectly except that the sleeve are a good 1.5-2" too long and wide at the sleeve opening.

It's no problem! I can't recall the exact amount, but it was about $300 for the entire jacket to be taken in, plus the sleeve shortening. So in your case it may even be a little less, depending on the difficulty of the task. The people there are great and if you tell them you intend to preserve the integrity of the design, they will listen.

it should be possible to take the sleeves in at the shoulders, but you'd need a tailor who is experienced in leather and has the right equipment, or a leather specialist.

Not really the typical kind of link shared around these parts, but I found it interesting/useful:

One of the easiest ways to slim your body is through the way of fashion optical illusion. The following illustrations show just how easy this can be.

Thank you for posting that, I found it very informative. I'm not good with proportions and often wear whatever I like without first considering if it suits my body type/what I can do to make it fit better.

Glad that it could be useful for someone else. I've always worn stuff that I thought was aesthetically consistent or I liked on its own merits, but I'm wanting to be more conscious of shapes and having a visually balanced outfit now.

You short-armed people have like 90% of the clothing world catered to you. You can't let those of us with ape-like proportions have just have a few?

I know everyone is upset about the price hikes, but people, please don't resort to Bergfabel.
