    Julia Heuse, JULIAANDBEN, Berlin

After graduating at the prestigious Berlin design school ESMOD, Julia Heuse founded her eponymous fashion label on graduating in 2006. The label was born in the back room of an art gallery on Torstrasse in Berlin`s bustling art district Mitte. Channeling her respective influences into a menswear and womanswear label continues to strike a balance between commercial and conceptual, classic and avant-garde and mixes glamour with a unique Berlin street style. Her design challenges conventionality – such as boxy oversized cuts or draped fabrics in both her designs for woman and men – but, importantly, the creations are also flattering. Many of the materials have been tie-dyed, bleached, moonwashed or aged to create different effects. The fabrics in the collections have an interestingimpact as they reflect the urban lifestyle at best. Tough, dirty and sometimes vamped up.

I daresay these are very stylish and at the same time appealing designs. The jacket (the last posted pictures) is the most alerting!

It somehow reminds me of Roberto Cavalli: lots of extremely gaudy clothes made of fabric with correspondingly flashy prints with an occasional pop-up of a scarf that could be hung on a wall in place of some cheap artsy poster.

looks like deafault sketchup texture. should never be done by anyone except first year architecture students.

reminds me more of MSGM or Damir Doma

Reminds me of Bless without any of the sense of humor.

I do like some of those scarves though, especially the one covering that woman's face/head.
