Hermès Names Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski as Artistic Director
Confirming earlier market reports that circulated following the departure of Christophe Lemaire earlier this week, Hermès has appointed Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski artistic director of women’s ready-to-wear.
PARIS, France — Hermès has officially named Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski artistic director of women’s ready-to-wear. The appointment confirms market reports that emerged earlier this week, following the departure of Christophe Lemaire, who left the French luxury brand after four years to focus full-time on his own label.
Vanhee-Cybulski is a design veteran with a CV that includes positions at Céline and Maison Martin Margiela. Most recently, she was women’s design director at The Row. She is the latest in a strong roster of former womenswear designers at Hermès, including Martin Margiela and Jean Paul Gaultier.
“We welcome the arrival of Nadège. Her talent and her creative track record will be great assets in the continued development of women’s ready-to-wear,” said Axel Dumas, chief executive officer of Hermès, in a statement.
She will reveal her first collection for Hermès women’s ready-to-wear for the Autumn/Winter 2015 season. Lemaire’s last collection will be shown over Paris Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2015 season come October.
