I recently reread an old Yohji article whilst doing research for school. I do menswear and also study sustainability which, long story short, places some emphasis on carbon footprint and responsibility.

He is very insistent on utilising local Japanese production, like small runs and whatnot, to preserve culture and pay homage to the rich tradition of craftsmanship and shares his thoughts on the Japanese aesthetic compared to the Western world.
