    Panelling

    im gonna make a jacket and got a question on how to panel fabrics.
    something like the picture here but not wavy. Sharper panels.


    my question is when drawing out my patterns, do I just break apart into panel like so:



    or do i need to compensate with darts?

    I must see it how is done but from the pic I think it's ok if you break the classic pattern into small pieces shaped how you want. Pay attention about the weight of the fabrics you will choose, try to choose fabrics with almost the same weight. c:

      Yes, breaking into panels is a good way to go about it. Just make sure you have the correct seam allowance, especially if you end up doing more wavy panels.
      But what do I know.
