Juke, Footwork, Ghetto House, Ghettotech megathread

are you guys into juke? it's been my favourite genre since 2011
when the scene was blowing up in early 2012, i made a bet with a friend that Rick Owens would end up doing a runway show with a footwork backing track, and he did early this year, lol

let's discuss and share our favourite getto traxx and heat, and if there are any dancers here (i can't dance for shit) let's discuss footworking too

we can also discuss our favourite crews, basically anything related to the culture - let's get jukin'

oh yeah, here's a comp i put out! it's free!

i had 5 chances to meet him, and i never got to meet him
but rashad's work has influenced me and many others
i've met many friends of his, and some rival djs that had beef with him
when he died, those with beef just felt horrible for having that beef, many turned a new leaf and decided to learn to become amazing people
he was an amazing man with great intentions and took many djs under his wing and turned them into brilliant artists

i hung out with dj spinn the other day, he gave me a bunch of teklife stickers which were made to honor dj rashad after his death
i keep the backing of one of them in my wallet window, it says RASHAD FOREVER
pretty much to remind me of rashad every time i take out money, lol

even though i never got to meet him, he's still a very important figure in my life

the teklife kids are putting out an album next month where all the money from the sales are going to rashad's son
i feel so bad for rashad's son, he's an orphan now, poor guy

i'll always be playing this in his honor

crack capone still gets played all the time in my car.

isnt there someone (if i recall correctly) on sz who works or is affiliated with Mu?

recently have been listening to young smoke a good bit even though he is getting away from the typical footwork juke sound.

I find DJ Diamond to be pretty hit and miss but his new track is probably the best footwork i've heard in 12 months.

I'm not feeling the Teklife stuff over the last few years really. Other than Traxman and RP Boo, it leaves me a bit cold.

RP Boo released a great single on Adult Swim:

And there's quite a few gems if you dig in the Traxman bandcamp

Preach antabaka! A lot of people don't understand the emotional attachment you can get for artists whether knowing them or just their music. That attachment shows true appreciation of that music and a general understanding of the one composing it.
