    Sydney/Melbourne stores

I'll be heading to these 2 cities in a month, and was wondering what other stores I should check out besides Eastern Market, Song or the Mute flagship, Assin, Sneakerboy...?

I never done a tax claim, but apparently you can also claim 11% tax from the Australian airports provided you carry-on the goods and invoice proof

dotcomme (the place for old comme, yohji, junya, etc) has a brick and mortar store in melbourne:

"We are located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia at No.4 Level 3, The Nicholas Building 37 Swanston St Melbourne Vic 3000 (enter via the Cathedral Arcade lifts). Please call 0412 664 868 if unattended."

    great selection, as well.

      Melbourne
Eastern Market Fabrica: Carol, Deepti, ma+, Harnden, etc.
      Assin: Julius & Boris
      Marais: lots of Rick
Sneakerboy: Rick & drkshdw sneakers, a few pieces of drkshdw clothing
Harrolds: very limited selection of Rick
Cose Ipanema: old stock of Devoa, TVA, IS and Lost & Found, might find a bargain

      Sydney
Pieces (ask to go up to their new upstairs gallery, it's where most of the good stuff is at): ma+, A1923, LUC, Rick, Boris, Julius, L0, IS, and much, much more
Harrolds: As per Melbourne, not really worth a visit unless your passing by

Tourist Refund Scheme is pretty straight forward, details are here but basically any purchase of $300 or more can be claimed back at the airport. for purchases of over $1K the retailer will need to include your name and address but they should know the process. download the TRS app and pre-fill the information to save some time queuing with folks with bags full of LV and Uggs..

As a Sydney local, thank you so much. I never know where to find good clothes and stores locally.

Pretty much all the stores I know of in Europe (mostly Germany and Belgium) and Japan, so I really appreciate it.

          Thank you for the suggestions.

I'm traveling in Melbourne this week, and today I've visited:
Eastern Market Fabrica, Assin, Dot Comme, and Marais. A lot of sales everywhere but I managed to come out without buying anything.

Taichi Murakami pieces in Eastern Market were really interesting. Very nice fabrics with attention to details. Unfortunately I was sweating too much (it's summer down here) and I opted not to try on any garments :) Maybe next time.

Just across a block from Assin, I also found a little store called Even Penniless (Shanghai based designer), which had a nice selection of womenswear in similar aesthetics to Paul Harnden, and SZ magazines on the table.

Harrolds in Melbourne and Sydney are worth visiting for their Song For The Mute buys.

If you're in Sydney and are an admirer of Song For The Mute (which you should be – the recent stuff is world class), the atelier in Glebe is a must-visit. You can check out FW16 prototypes there, too.

Just an update to this that Dot Comme have moved to a beautiful new location in Curtain House, Level 3, 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne.
some do it fast, some do it better in smaller amounts.

Yesterday whilst going on lunch I stumbled across that store in QV:

                    http://republicboutique.com/

Seems new; pretty excited to have another SFTM carrier in the city.

Just landed in Melbourne today and walked around in the city abit. Are there any oval designers that worth checking out? What about Resturant? Went to a Resturant in casino called waterfront with some friends and seafoods were amazing (but on expensive side)

Zambesi (75 Flinders Lane) carries some Rick and Gareth for women, and I liked some of the things at Alistair Trung (147 Little Collins St).

Edited to add: Both stores are women's only.

Hey guys, anyone located in Sydney can do me a favor? Shouldn't take long and that'd be really helpful.

Thanks for the great Melbourne options here guys I was familiar with Marais and Harrolds for Rick but a few other similar stores might be up my alley.
