    Top 2015 list(s)

Time for a good ol' yearly top list (surprised no one else has created a thread for it yet).

To get some ease of mind I simply have to say to myself the list is done. The list could easily double in size, but I tried to narrow it a bit (it hurts).
Selected 12 albums which were a tiny bit better than the other ones I chose. Links to Spotify added where available.

Please add any list with anything you found extra good during 2015, it doesn't have to be music albums, even if that is what I chose here.

Soul Pill: Have quite a few of those on my almost-made-it-list: Aisha Devi, Holly Herndon and FIS. Was terribly disappointed with Rabit's release, when the first track I heard was such a complete killer one: Pandemic.

The fascination people have with Jlin I don't completely understand. I don't think I have met anyone not being in favor apart from myself. Saw her play live at the Unsound festival in Krakow (had listened to her before that as well) and it was just... loud obnoxious computer game soundtrack music without dynamics. Not understanding is also part of it. :)

          TOP-3:

          1: Jam City - Dream a Garden

my favorite album of the year; pretty unexpected, because i don't like Classical Curves at all, but this one i loved so much that it would even make my top-10 of the decade lol)

          2: Shlohmo - Dark Red

dude has delivered exactly what i needed (and kind of expected), what a great follow-up to Bad Vibes; 2nd place only because of Dream a Garden

3: Jamie xx - In Colour

          no comments haha

          - - -
Also (no less than 8.5/10 in my opinion):

          Active Child - Mercy
Braille - Mute Swan (his Everyone's Crazy EP as well)
Claude Speeed - Sun Czar Temple EP
          Dave DK - Val Maira
Egyptrixx - Transfer Of Energy [Feelings Of Power]
          FKA twigs - M3LL155X EP
          Floating Points - Elaenia
          Fort Romeau - Insides
          George FitzGerald - Fading Love
          Helena Hauff - Discreet Desires
Kuedo - Assertion of a Surrounding Presence EP
          Maribou State - Portraits

Helena Hauff and Floating Points were damn close to end up on my list as well.

            ––––––––

One can sense some sort of streamlining here, or at least see that we find /read about music from the same sources. Given the range of material released nowadays, it is mildly annoying to see such similar lists posted so far. Was hoping for a wider range of artists.

A few of the names you guys posted hasn't reached me yet, so hopefully I will discover something worthwhile there, but most of them I know.

Remember the times when I was scraping every corner of the internet to find new, unheard of gems. Maybe I finally have become lazy in my quest for new music…

I remember the days when I was combing through every last nook and cranny of last.fm, among other things. It's hard to find new stuff I like as well. Take it as a sign of you being cultured.

Oh yes, last.fm was great for that. Even further back the Epitonic website was a great source for me, and also mp3.com. Despite its generic name, it was a kickass place to find awesome stuff.
