            Posting this out of curiosity.

There is always plenty of debate about Hedi @ YSL e.g. he's retreading old themes and it's a giant branding exercise to make lots of money.

Michele, in my opinion, same thing just in the opposite extreme, a mishmash of late 60s-70s androgynous hideousness.

Don't get why the fashion establishment is swooning ... maybe because he's delivering on the bottom line?

I'm not sure if he's actually delivering on the bottom line, but the cut of the suits is rather nice, actually, and the kind of thing that you won't find anywhere else with that combination of cut, colour and print. They're also quite easy to wear I imagine. If your lifestyle fits into whatever mood he's going for, it's easy to slip into those suits and head off breaking hearts in some nightclub.

It's understandable that SZ audience might automatically have a barf reaction to anything of this sort, but with time I think the more you can think in abstract terms not relating to your own preferences, the wider your understanding might be.

Plus this whole show looks very optimistic and light, unlike most other ones at the moment, perhaps people want to escape the present. Well, as they do most of the time with fashion, escapism.

At the very least this is much better than Prada, that embarrassing praise Fury lavished on their show was beyond eye-rolling. Miuccia Prada contemplating ISIS. Dafuq.

@ eat me : ha... I would actually say my taste can border on the ornate, I have a definite weak spot for Haider and Dries

I thought Gucci's last season was better, this one just leaves me befuddled. A lot of it seems like territory that D&G has already explored.

I appreciate the bravery of posting this here and eat me's open minded attitude (which I share). I think there is some very well done pattern and color clashing and as a statement the visual overstimulation is a nice antidote to the often over serious and minimal direction fashion has been moving. BUT, I wish the whole thing wasn't so damn retro. I'm so sick of retro.

Did Gucci subcontract some of those cat-lady-etsy-knitters to design those hats?

ahah I actually really like those tibetan demon wooly hats. I want one! (if they are indeed tibetan demons, if not I retract my statement)

I love this, as much as Dries at least, and miles more than the whole Haider general disappointment. At least it fits nice and all
however, I agree with casem that retro needs to die. but the jodorowski silhouettes with the hats and bold colours are fun. I don't know, at least it's not boring. I'd wear a lot of it too, given the chance
