It's crazy how much better the samples looked than the actual production version. Same colorway (black/black/white) but oh, so different:

It's down to the luck of the draw. I'm perfectly aware there'll be differing qualities/grades within even the same batch/collection. That's why I said it's just my bad luck, i'm in no way blaming RO or Luisa. However, I don't think that the differing prices are reflective of the 'grade' of the leather. Luisa's always had better prices than most other retailers, and their goods are no inferior than others.

Luisa exchanged my Intarsia to another one in the same size and color. That one arrived today. It's marvellous. There is NO visible leather texture on it. Even the leather feels a little bit smoother!

I don't like the hammered lambskin because it's too thin.

I got the Guidi high back zips from Christian today (many thanks to you, sir). These were definitely my dream boots and to actually own them — and be my first substantial shoe purchase ever — has just filled me with happiness! haha


I'm attempting to document my purchases thoroughly in pictures just like Acid, Bitter, & Sad. Not being someone who lives nearby to any stores that sell the clothes discussed here, I'm often frustrated by the lack of high quality, high resolution images available of the clothes I enjoy. Consequently, I'm doing my best to add to that pool.


There are way too many to post in this thread so if you'd like to see more, you can visit my blog post. Anyone is welcome to use these in the future for sales threads or whatever as long as they credit (and point out they're not the exact boots for sale, of course.)

did your intarsia come with a strap on the inside? i wanna throw it on my shoulder but my oiled calf didn't...
