I've always thought the Ann necklace was meant to represent the crown of thorns. Not necessarily as a religious reference but maybe from a historical context or symbolism of it.

Maybe it's just the idea of creating something that looks sharp and painful and threatening around your neck that is actually quite comfortable.

I can see where there could be some Hot Topic confusion from some of the items they sell but I'd guess the Ann necklace speaks for itself in person and with the right outfit.

This is the hot topic variety of rubber barbed wire I've seen before at concerts or whatever. This one just happens to be part of a fetish whip instead of a necklace.

just bought the ann necklace from A myself. Can be worn so many ways... around the head, neck, wrist, waist (if you're a skinny bastard like myself) A really fun piece, and wont catch on all my gauzy tank tops this summer, like my feather necklace does :(
