Agreed. I'm all for some feminine cuts/gender-bending...I just don't like ballerina flats in general. They remind me of those stupid shoes all the kids are wearing...Sam's or Steve's...something like that.

I really don't see what's strange about the feminine comments. You are wearing a long skirt with ballerina lookin flats and a blazer that has very feminine lines.. you didn't "manage to make them look markedly feminine". they are feminine looking pieces on their own. whether or not your projecting a feminine vibe was deliberate is an entirely different question. whether or not a feminine vibe even exists is another entirely different question.

I find it interesting that whenever these "gender bending" discussions come up, we never hear from the original poster as to what their intentions are/ were; or if they were aware of the vibe they were projecting. obviously, they don't care either way.
