I wouldnt have been swayed if i saw her on the street. the pants and shoes are probably the reason why i dont think its a sucessful outfit. By saying this i dont mean to bash mona, I just think that the bottom half makes it look very very bland in an ultra ultra commercial in the everyday sense- a kind of look/silhouette that I can spot on suburban sydney trains(not a compliment).

the male equivalent would be white shirt and black pants from prada/armani(but worn on a good looking model dude)
I want to end this discussion so badly but you guys will not let me, i am responsible too because I could just ignore the responses, but at this point it has become in some ways bigger than the look she posted, for me it is defending a look and an aesthetic that I firmly believe in.
Maybe I do like the way my grandma and many of the elegant and sophisticated women of their era used to dress, maybe I like the fact that back then women had a better understanding of clothes, how they are supposed to fit, and what should be covered as opposed to what should be exposed
I find many of these women (and men!) nowadays to be "hurry come ups" not knowing or understanding the fundamentals, and not caring to, either,
today I am going off to a youth camp, I will have to present a seminar on Wednesday, do you know what it is about?
Proper etiquette and decorum, something that is being lost on today's young ones. I will have to explain the difference between casual and corporate, between a cocktail dress and a ballgown.
something that should have been taught at home!
Mona here has posted something with gracefulness and charm to it, something very modern and urbane, elegant, practical and regal................May the good Lord help us if we cant see the beauty and polish of it.

Also, one of the reasons why I want to end these discussions is that there seems to be among many here, the inability to discuss/critique an outfit without making comments that would seem rude and improper, sometimes I wish they would bring back finishing schools and make them mandatory!!!!!!!!!

It's easy to misinterpret something that's almost nonsensical, and a lot of the posts in here are.

I think it's partly because people don't really have a good grasp of the language (which is understandable) but also partly because they don't keep it simple despite this but rather go for cool sounding one-liners.

NDF clearly wouldn't know sophistication, if it got up and slapped him arround the chops with a wet haddock and shouted "Hello, I'm sophistication!"

                Drunk again... Sorry!

                      nice headpiece D ;)

naw but seriously, i like it. Dig the slightly untidy fit of the suit which you pull off with panache, the latter being the key, of course.

I have mixed feelings about the hat....though not in the traditional sense.

Im being more literal here...I dont know if the hat scares me or if it makes me sad (the long entrails leading from the eyes are reminiscent of tears).

Awesome outfit....I hope you didnt scare too many customers...

dave, looking good! i like the nonchalance of the outfit, e.g. the longer jacket sleeves. would love to see details. is that the gitter jacket?
