I don't think the coat is a problem either. It looks fine.

The excessive stacking on the pants is more of a problem in my opinion, it adds bulk to the lower leg and make the legs shapeless/stumpy.

That said, the picture appears to be made up of two anyway.

Haha it's not, I was just wearing the j-pants low and had been walking around for a while so it's just weird stacking that developed at the knees.

Edit: thanks for the feedback everyone, I don't think I'll be getting further alterations on the coat.

Doubt you want to alter further, but i'd suggest moving the button up to make this truly work on you. (Or to add further blasphemy: Maybe add a button above the existing?) It would help get rid of the illusion that your arms are 3/4 the length of your body. (Block the button with your finger tip, imagine it higher and you'll see.)

Geometrically speaking, BUMMER is right, if you shorten a coat, you reduce as well the distance between its bottom and the button, that should be moved a bit upward to keep the proper proportions. And visually speaking, I have to say that I agree with him as well.
