word on the street is that boston's barney's is dropping MM next season since he doesn't seem to sell to well for them here. interesting to say the least. also interesting is the fact that they'll be picking up n(n) next year.

Didn't know about the Diesel acquisition? I own a couple things from MM and the quality is outstanding. For me the line represents well cut basics that I would only buy less than retail. Despite being a line of basics, I have to say there is definitely a look associated with the line. I find myself turned off by the more quirk pieces from the collection.

CHRIS, I felt exactly the same way for a while. And I understand exactly where guys from Styleforum are coming from - since I have to wear business casual, Margiela has become a blessing. And I'm not the only one - where do you think all the architects and other people who have to look "smart" yet different dress.

They do a very smart thing with the stores. Once the store opens they don't allow anyone else to carry the artisanal lines "0 10" - this is a big part of Margiela's business. Smart, I can see Renzo Rosso all over this, haha.

                Cas-

It will be within a womens boutique is all I know at the moment but the location is genius. When I first found out bh I thought oh great but then when I tracked it down, it's on the part of the street with very little traffic and old school stores next to a small art gallery. It is virtually one street away from being out of bh in fact.

                Faust-

Don't know how the relationship with staff and margiela work, I've heard countless stories but apparently he still exercises quite a bit of control kind of like a backing of him I suppose. The pieces I have from him are fantastic, my buys are always highly edited. This seasons things are looking quite nice and in addition to the fred segals that carry it there's also 06+ in downtown whose buys are always unique.

Faust, Undercover also did it in the 90s I think, covering all body with tartan checks. JPG also did it in early the 80s or late 70s - I might be wrong with the date, with fabric in houndstooth check, they made the covering as apart of the outfit, tailored, in a more theatrical manner, i think.

MMM did it, as seen in the pictures in a "raw" way, which is nicer imo:-)

i thought i had seen a pic of him walking in to a building in France, and for some reason i thought he was younger and more filled out. perhaps it was a while ago, or perhaps it wasn't him. he was bearded, though.......

margiela wearing Acronym? nothing wrong with Acronym, just a completely different aesthetic and brand identity that i thoughtwouldn't mix well with margiela.
