          that's crazy! i guess most of my gide books are old editions. last night, i found that i have "if it die" by gide, but never read it... so that is in my queue. </p>

          just started melville's billy budd while i wait for the local library to fork over gibson's neuromancer.</p>

                  Finally reading "Au bonheur des dames" by Zola, I'm surea lot of forumnites would enjoy this one as it's about the birth of general clothing stores and how they overtake small, artisanal business in 19th century Paris.
                  Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

                      I'm sure Zola is translated into about every language on earth.[:)] It's nice that Fuuma can read it in the original.</p>

                        Absurdistan by Gary Shteyngart. Fairly hilarious so far...have you read it, Faust? I think it might spark your interest, given the subject matter (the New Russia, among other things).

                          Nope, I haven't touched Shteyngart yet. I will, as a possible subject matter for a Ph D proposal. Give me until the summer starts and I graduate (hopefully). I have heard that he is very witty. I'm glad you like it.

                                Thanks for being so nice, faust and laika. I'm afraid I haven't had much free time to spend forumizing lately. On top of that, I seem to be going through a protracted period of general disinterest when in comes to fashion (not a cause for alarm or anything, just a phase I've gone through once or twice before - this too shall pass. :P)</p>
