Judging by the title it is not in danger of being outdated ;-)

O why didn't somebody warn me that this Tom Robbins fellow would bore me to the point of drowning in my own eyesnot? Gawdamn... too far to stop now, I hate that feeling. Thumms down, Jitterbug Perfume.

Up next I got Javier Marias - All Souls and Fever & Spear and then Ficciones by Borges. All in English translation 'cause I'm barely monolingual...

and then the new Neil Stephenson 'cause my bro got it for me for my birfday. Time to nerd out on that.

Hey, somebody should recommend some Searle to me... it seems like he thinks on stuff I might dig, but I read Mind, Language and Society a while ago and it was kinda too entry-level for, I think, or it coulda just been me missing stuff...
I think they're easily the number one punk item.

Borges is really difficult to read in Spanish... tried a little bit a couple years ago and failed miserably haha.

my searle's extremely rusty at this point in time but what aspect of his work are you particularly drawn to? this short online entry, despite being prefaced under the limited purview of "philosophy of mind", actually does an adequately decent job as a primer of the core of his work by subsectioning it into 3 thematic parts. you could work your way from those 3 parts to their corresponding bibliographic references and find the reading material which tickles your fancy.
aside from those 3 parts, i'd add a 4th which is essentially his "social philosophy" - specifically the extension and development of his philosophy to the broader context and domain known as "society". it's his way of grappling with "social reality".
the book, "construction of social reality" comes to mind (mind mind mind).
