are you sure thats PH or just a woman wearing a very old coat?
I'm not being sarcastic, i'm honestly not sure.
She does look really nice though.

really? i didn't know ph was your steez. my chief problem with that jacket is how wrinkly it looks on the bottom. and it's not that warm.

this is why it's hard to drop close to $2500 on his clothing. not to mention that there's a company called rogue's gallery (or something to that effect) that they sell at odin that knocks him off with materials that are equally as good for like 80% of the ph asking price.

Unless he directly knocked off an old coat, it's definitely Paul Harnden.

Definitely looks like Harnden to me... Especially with it being tight across the Chest and looser at the bottom..

I wish my grandma dressed like that...

Tried it on in a dark blue today, pretty dope. Not as cool as his suede navy leather jacket though, definitely a piece to release your inner dandy.

Very nice piece indeed: did you get it?

I recently bought a few (1 pants + 1 shirt + 2 jackets) from PH at Harvey's Berlin. - Will post WAYWT later this week.

    I really love this brand!

For those of you who are on the hunt for PH:

Harvey's Berlin received its SS09 PH shipment with lots of nice pices.

    And even more good news:
because of the weak £ the prices in € are much better this year!

I bought a dark grey "summer suit" => it's more an all-season cotton. Will post pics soon.

nice John. Can't wait to see pics. The S/S 09 pieces I saw at l'eclaireur were cut small and had really short sleeves. Like they were made specifically for the japanese market. Did you find the same to be true of what you saw at Harvey's?

Armand Hadid said Harnden was cut intentionally a little small and short. The trousers to be worn not quite at full length to show a little ankle with shoes worn sockless. I guess it's either oversized or short. Not sure if this season's specifically for the Japanese market, though that wouldn't surprise me if that were the case, since so much of Harnden's pieces end up in Japan.

that's my problem with recent ph pieces as well. the thom browne proportions have held me back from purchasing several pieces. it's intentional from what i was told but i can't get past it...

Yea, it is intentional but it also does run small. I tried on a dual layer silk jacket and an XL pretty much fit me (while the sleeves were still short, although I attribute part of that to my wing span). Didn't try on the trousers though. Stuff was nice and seemed somewhat reasonable for Harnden.

the cut's definitely changed, most obviously in the length of his signature blazers which i believe are now four button instead of six. works well for me, I'm not complaining!

let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.

    Default PH in Tokyo

Does anyone know where PH is stocked in Tokyo?

There used to be a place called Space in Aoyama that stocks PH but the store has either moved or closed.

The other place I saw PH was Barneys NY in Ginza, but that was maybe more than a year ago. Didn't go check it out during my visit last month.

I am looking for Harnden in Tokyo as well. Space closed and no one seems to have any clue about where else to buy it. I haven't checked out Barneys Ginza yet, though.

^ mate, way ahead of you :)
i think i might've mentioned ben rivers in connection with harnden
some time last year in the cinema thread. he came out to melbourne middle of 2008 with another ben (russell) to screen a bunch of their films as part of the local film festival. the film on jake is quite splendid. that one shot with the single feral horse backgrounded by a blanket of hilly snow remains endearingly etched in my memory. absolutely stunning piece of cinematic poetry.

here's another rivers film with a harnden connection - harnden himself.
