I really like the simplicity of Robert Dudley Best Lamps,
it's very beautiful to me ...</p>

Robert Dudley Bestdrew the first drafts of the lamp that would later become synonymous with his name when he studied tobecome anindustrial designer in Paris and Düsseldorf. As the lamp was the first example of Bauhaus in the UK, strong arguments were needed before the lamp could be put into production. The lamp was produced by the manufacturing firm Best &amp; Lloyd, founded by Best?s family in 1840. After mention in the prominent architectural magazine Architects? Journal, the architectural community opened its eyes to the lamp?s potential. Bestlite gained everlasting fame when Winston Churchill placed one on his desk in Whitehall.</p>

yes, it has been in production since 1930, and actually, the first drafts he did doesn't deviate much from what it looks like today. I think that's quite something. Here is the bestlite website for anyones interest ...</p>

yea, the one i wanted was $5k or something, and it was just a glass plate on x legs and one drawer - bonkers.

a few hours too late, but you would have done well to check out brooklyn designs this weekend. a good range of local work in a variety of pricepoints. the vendor list might be a good starting point.

Nice, Becoming. The Best lamps are great. The BL5 wall is really nice... Reminded me a little of Prouvé's wall lights (an original would be my furniture HG)...</p>

Yeah Seventh, the Prouvé is really beautiful, and I can see why
you would draw a line between them, even though at first glance
the Prouvé seems much more fragile. [51]
