looking at ll of this and going back ot Jamaica a few weeks ago made me want to try my hand at furniture design. at least for my own personal fulfillment.

in my early years I was an apprentice to a furniture maker, and one of my best friends who died earlier this year who lived next door also made furniture......

    I had these

made while I was there, a fun project, I didn't do it myself though,

this thing looks like it came from the maurice villency collection circa 1990's (note that mv was referenced in goodfellas, so you know it's bad)

why don't you start by finding a good mattress. you can live without the other stuff for a few weeks.

Looks like Bend Seating is the manufacturer. Just saw this chair over the weekend. Great outdoor option. Find it here at YLiving

Also check out Woodard Sculptura chairs:

These look pretty cool, but I couldn't find a single online retailer.. anyone seen these in person, or have an idea what the price range is?

edit: thanks to a helpful sz'er, just found out that its in the €250-300 range, which is definitely more appealing than the €800 price tag on a Bertoia.....

OK. So I didn't get the orange sectional. LOL

I just went with black leather lounge and daybed/sofa, black Nelson bench, wood side tables and need the following advice:

So, basically it's all black furniture thus far with maple wood floors:

I need one more lighting fixture and want either:

            1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ligne-Roset-...item3cc6d7cd3e

            or

            2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170852960669...84.m1438.l2649

Both are obviously very different styles but I like them both for various reasons. The paranoid lamp is simply cool and goes well with everything I have, but the driftwood lamp is really great and I like the idea of using the base for various other things and the black shade (or another) would work well. I'm just not convinced white ivory walls with maple flooring would match that white driftwood....I want to convince myself it'd be good. LOL

Then, for a final chair, I am thinking of getting on piece that is red (unsure of what but if I can find a corona style lounge that'd work) or I may got with this Frank Gehry piece:

So it's between a touch of color (to go with my artwork) or the Frank Gehry to match the flooring and simply because Frank Gehry is badass IMO.

            Something like:

            1. http://www.lifeinteriors.com.au/onli...ir-and-ottoman

            or

            2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330738659157...84.m1438.l2649

or maybe....but I doubt they would ship and this is an odd piece but has both color and is Frank Gehry

            3. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/fuo/2975098876.html

Thanks for any opinions or advice. Can't decide on these two particular articles and need to get my shit together ASAP since these orders take eons sometimes.

            Thanks,
            DxD

Here's a pic of Dieter Rams' backyard for inspiration:

Wow. Very nice garden area, K.

Will miss that aspect of living in San Francisco. Yours looks wonderful! If you don't mind asking, what area are you in?

Thanks all. It's about as peaceful as it can be with three kids a dog and a wife for whom too many flowers is never enough

                            Good start BUT...

Me and the Mrs. have been putting together the nest for a while now.
Here's a shot of a nice and cozy little room with a high glass ceiling and exposed brick walls (kinda nice because it's more than 100 yo)

(.. also, there's the Ron Arad chair that I drooled over a while back.)

                            BUT:

Thanks to the 'creative' renovating of our landlord the nice little room's walls started covering in mold after a month since we moved in.
(not the brick parts but the concrete parts..)

I wouldn't wanna let go of this apartment, but shit is getting annoying and the case isn't going nowhere.

Oh boy how I miss the quality of buildings back in the old country...

Nice Voido chair! I had a pair of orange ones on my patio in Denver. Great lounge chairs
