yeah i want to see Antichrist pretty badly. The film's poster is one of my favorites

the local newspaper reported that Von Trier said making this film helped him get over his depression over the past 2 years...i assume making something like that can be cathartic, but I wonder what the original full quote and context of his statement was

Me too, would also add Enter the Void from Gaspar Noé and Inglorious Basterds from Tarantino. This year, Cannes selection was fun.

Rewatching a bunch of Wilde's plays, BBC production. I must say, Lady Windemere's Fan is fast becoming my favorite - I think it's far better than both An Ideal Husband and The Importance of Being Earnest.

of all the films featured in cannes this year, i'm most eagerly looking forward to seeing reisnais' wild grass, cavalier's irene, and lounguine's tzar. the latter two from the "un certain regard" section.

tzar in particular is something i can't wait to see. lounguine is a filmmaker i've followed enthusiastically over the years. his previous effort, island, was a highlight for me in 2007. highly recommended.

                    Onibaba - "Demon Woman"

                    Predictable. :/

How, do these mediocre films receive Criterion treatment before: Buñuel's "Los Olvidados" Or Mizoguchi's "The Life Of Oharu[?]"

                      Limits of Control

Jarmusch sans any kind of filter. Glacially paced, obscenely referential and self-aware.

Still well worth seeing I'd say.

Luca: Oh, The Godfather!! I liked that movie, but 'Jeepers Creepers 2' is my favorite movie!!
