So, who will be first to go see the new Terrence Malick movie?

don't think the initial limited release is in htown so i'll probably end up snagging it off the internet before it opens here, but i can't wait to see it. Malick never fails me and getting boo'ed at cannes is basically the most shining endorsement a movie can get. the minor negatives sound like standard Malick so i expect great things. just not sure i'm ready to stomach watching brad pitt play a main role.

It hasn't opened anywhere near me yet - if anyone has seen this I would love to hear your opinion...

That is too funny, I actually saw it around the same time (for the 2nd time though). Was thinking about posting it here and that you would probably comment on it, stating that you liked it as well...

sometimes you just gotta love netflix, after having recently watched C.H.U.D. and Dead Ringers i'm getting recommended genres such as "scary crime movies from the 1980s" and "visually-striking dark sci-fi and fantasy"

all the recommendations suck, but i love the sound of these genre titles

brain blown and i'm by no means a malick fanboy. all the reviews are replete with inadvertent spoilers so don't read them. the less you know the better.

Been on a Johnnie To roll the last few days, the first time for me to see any of his films. Watched The Mission, Breaking News, Election 1+2 and Exiled. Enjoyed all of them, though Breaking News less so (it had some highlights). Have I missed something of his I should watch? I know next to nothing about him or which of his movies are 'best'. I also have Sparrow sitting here, haven't had time to see that one yet.

Rewatched some old Cannes classics last week and rediscovered my love for Pedro Almodóvar. I think Bad Education is possible the best film I've ever seen (along with All About My Mother).

at the end of the 2 plus hr film no-one spoke or stirred from their seats for at least a good 2 minutes , I have never experienced that before in a move theatre!
