I've just ordered these Christian Peau boots from Oki-Ni in a UK size 7:



I think Christian Peau is one of the more interesting Japanese designers emerging at the moment - you can see his influences very clearly and I don't feel he has yet developed a strong vision of his own, but some of his pieces are superb, especially the leather jackets.

The boots are a bit of an experiment for me - they don't look like one of his more interesting efforts, but they were a pretty good price - £150 (reduced from £400 in the sale). The last pair!

They look a bit flimsy compared to some of his I've seen, so I wonder if they might be 'watered down' for western consumption.

The sole looks unusual, I'm not sure how or whether to vibram these:

Thanks for the info. Apart from what's on this thread I haven't been able to find out much about them - can you enlighten me further? Who are the members, what is their background? I'm interested to see how this label will develop. I really like a lot of what I've seen.

The label used to make some wonderful t-shirts, in the Raymond Pettibon vein.

In my ignorance I just googled Raymond Pettibon and to my delight I discovered that he's the artist of the Sonic Youth t-shirt I wear daily in summer while riding my bike!!! Christian Peau has obviously come a long way since then (as have I... on my bike)...

unearthing a relic of a thread here, but i'm eyeing off a christian peau leather jacket (online only unfortunately) and was just wondering if anyone around here's familiar with their sizing? i.e. are they normally fairly TTS or would it be wiser to size up? hard to find info on these guys.

Ask the retailer or person selling it secondhand. I have a Peau jacket and it's true to size, but I purchased it a few years ago.
