    Carol Christian Poell

    The definitive thread.

Carol Christian Poell, an Austrian designer who holes up in a studio in
Milan's Naviglio district where he quietly designs an ultra-niche, cult
label that he doesn't always produce and only shows to the public when
    he feels like it.

Carol Christian Poell, born in Linz in 1966, lives and works in Milan,
Italy. After having been trained as a men's and a ladies' tailor in
Vienna (Michelbeurn), he studied fashion design at the Domus Academy in
Milan where he also founded the production and distribution company
C.C.P. Srl together with his partner Sergio Simone. After having
presented his first men's collection in 1995, he developed his ladies'
collection from classical elements of traditional menswear three years
later. The distribution network for his articles of clothing and
accessories, which are quite extravagant in terms of production
technology, includes more than 40 dealers all over the world.

xcoldrice, it's definitely helpful for me. I seem to be a bit
late to learning about Poell, and in the past few I have been searching
the internet for more information. Thanks for the links, I'm sure
        they'll be great reads.

Yea, the link function takes a little getting used to. You have to paste the link twice; in the typepad, and then again after you click on the link icon.

I tried on the most amazing pair of pants when I was in London, at The Library. They were completely reversible - one side was grey cotton, cut like jeans, and stitched with that thick signature thread. The other side were black wool dress pants. The fly is removable with buttons on both sides. It was one of the most intricate pieces I have ever seen.

!!! but you didn't get them! were they upwards of $700? i assume they are this season's?

oh no, the link thing is problematic when you're trying to write many links in a row. it bunches text together even if you don't highlight it. so after i thought i finished the first time, i ended up having three links instead of like 10. so i had to go back and manually do it through html. i don't know what the deal is with the system. i tried fixing it through the system trying to unlink text and relinking- but then it would just add the old link.

Regarding the hair tie, couldn't you just buy some extensions and glue/tie it together? [:P]

Am I the only one who finds the hair tie to be completely creepy?

Also, the first thing that comes to my mind is Cousin Itt from The Addams Family.

On a different note, great compilation of links, thanks.

The hair tie IS kind of creepy, kucejoe, but it seems pretty plain after you see the horsetail pants he did. [;)]

Isaw some CCP items here in Hong Kong. The only thing that sticks out in my mind was a pair of jeans with the material twisted around the legs.. they seemed interesting, i wanted to try them on to see the effectbut couldnt be bothered cause they seemed really tight and they would be a hassle to take on/off... anyways they cost like HKD9000 USD1170... so i wouldnt have bought them anyway...
