A new photo is up on CarolChristianPoell.com

Looks like a photo of the jointed boot this season :)

[/quote]Yes, beautiful. The picture moves imperceptibly too.

Interesting, if you click on "pieces area" down on the bottom left, it brings you to a black page with boxes in the upper right for username/password....

I know this is totally off-topic, but this is probably my last chance. Ok. I want a pair of Augusta shoes from Atelier, the problem being that they don't ship overseas. Is there any trustworthy New Yorker out there who would be willing to help me out?

                Re: Carol Christian Poell

A sales associate at Maxfield's told me over the phone that they received a new CCP shipment this week, including three leather jackets! None of the designs sound familiar at least from her description. Can anyone confirm this and/or describe the items.

She did but it got too abstract. As I remember one is a 3/4 length, another has a "weird" arm (maybe the bull leather?), and the last is a leather blazer. You try to describe Poell jackets to someone over the phone...

                      weird arm is probably jointed?

                          Re: Carol Christian Poell

Joey's right. The 'weird' arm jacket is the jointed piece. I think the smallest size they have left is a 52. They have had the shipment for a few weeks now. I hate how they bend the truth to make a sale. Admittedly, the blazer is a new arrival and I don't recall seeing a 3/4 length coat. Was that described as leather as well? If so, I didn't see it either. I suspect that it is the wool coat that AB has over in Boston. The other piece is the overlocked leather. They have been expecting some gloves to come in as well. Not the kangaroo leather gloves, as kangaroo is against the law to sell in the state of California. They may have arrived this week, though I didn't see it.

Yeah, the SAs' product knowledge leaves much to be desired. Obviously, these pieces don't provoke the same kind of excitement that it generates with members of this board. A shame really. I think I was more excited than everyone in the store, with the exception of the owner and buyer. Vincent does have a deep appreciation for Poell's work though. I have to come to his defense here.

I wonder how one goes about getting a job at somewhere like Maxfield. If I know a lot about the clothing (more than the SAs last time I was there), like working with people and dress passably / better than passably on occasion, would they hire me? I'm probably going to need to start looking into getting a job sometime over the summer / next year and I'm wondering what boutiques would look for. Probably way more retail experience than I have.

Also, most of them don't seem to be hiring.

                                Servo,

If it is anything like some of the places I have worked previously if you are cool with a good story and know about the brands then they can train you how to sell.

Having a passion for the brands that you sell is key as it comes across. I remember one of my old bosses saying in regards to a serving job, you can teach a monkey to carry a tray but you can't teach onepersonal style.
