On another note, there's been discussion in the past about the possibility of expansion in face of meeting the demands of both stockists' and custom orders. I read somewhere that there are only 12 people or so on his staff and that would never change. Does anyone know if this is an accurate representation? If so, I'd be curious to know how much of the material engineering is, for lack of a better word, outsourced. Or if there is someone on Carol's staff who's expertise is in the handling and application of chemicals (hazardous and otherwise).
Perhaps this topic has already been addressed at length, but I wasn't able to find a direct answer elsewhere as to whether or not the chemical treatments applied to some of his garments were done in house. I was under the assumption that there was some outsourcing for highly specialized pieces requiring specific attentions. However, the fragility of one garment in particular leads me to have doubts about this, as it could have been made much sturdier, but would have required registration for chemicals ccp probably would not have been able to order in limited quantity.
