Wow..those last few paragraphs have really shed some light on what was happening then. Thank you so much. It's nice to hear how dedicated and passionate they were...more philosophy than fabric.

                          Okay, to discuss:

Being a definite Carpe diem fan, I for the most am taken aback with the (few) female pieces I've seen (photographed). As with the second above – reminiscent of a Linea jacket I own –, with similarity or even identity to the corresponding male pieces, I have no problem. But when Altieri takes on intrinsically female designs – regarding length, curvature, certain volumes –, I think he often fails. The first pictured above is an example. He seems to have a particular problem with skirts (but I have seen one nice, b/w).

Amadei has produced some better, but pretty basic models of womenswear.

I think Altieri's failure here is not only æsthetical, also ideological. For me, Carpe diem should be about reduction, thus gender-neutrality.

I'll try to steal some moments to address your post in a bit. I just wanted to note very quickly, that the first image above is not a "women's" piece, per se. I don't know if you are perceiving the bottom as a skirt, due to the image boundary, but they are in fact pants. No failure in the consideration of curvature, volume or length (length is debatable, dependent upon your preference for extended/elongated patterns). I'm happy to see you open for discussion. Let's keep momentum going MASUGNEN.

But these are vintage Carpe diem items? Or are they pieces from the rumoured new line? I don't see them as Avantindietroan.

You are correct. Those are CDiem images. I hadn't seen them anywhere online before and thought it would be fun to kick up a little dust with them.
