    ^ by your own definition, looks like you've got bad attitude.

    Hopefully none of your ramblings carries over to the new page.

          fashiondisaster, perhaps you should consider a few things.

          firstly, what exactly is your point? if you look back a page or two, you said the same exact thing about 4 months ago in this thread - "everything looks the same / I'm tired of it." fine, but why are you still preaching the same thing.

          secondly, from what I've gathered it doesn't seem like you have a very thorough knowledge of how these labels operate, so why make assumptions. no, they don't have "sales departments", actually some of the designer even handle sales themselves. And pretty much all of them are very low key about their work, they avoid press most of the time.
          "AVANT GUARDE HIGHEST FASHION. NOW NOW this is it people, these are the brands no one fucking knows and people are like WTF. they do everything by hand in their freaking secret basement and shit."

            um, all blacks and greys are not created equal.

            Without getting into a ridiculous debate regarding monochromatism I think it is safe to claim grey and black as colors...

            Beauty comes from the treatment and use of different dyes and techniques. I don't need a splash of bright green to have a laugh and a joke.

                what is so suspicious about him, he sells shoes for a lot of money, you buy it and there is an exchange of cash for goods, it isn't like he is a con man selling you an empty box for $1K+.
                Much truth in your saying.

                  I personally think the recession/depression vibe of the world kinda makes the arte povera styles all the more appealing at this time... If you sometimes are uncomfortable spending so much on clothes, it's at least comforting to know that others at least look at you like you're thrifty... That said, on days when you're with your kid, just laughing over silly stuff, it's hard to understand the designers who are totally averse to color... or to be fully satisfied by those who seem to try to evoke a single mood.
                  THANKS...i agree 100%...In fact, as I said :

                  1) this type of genre .. is destined to run out.

                  2) these brands will never have the style strength
                  to expose themselves more than they expose at today.

                  End of recession = end appealing for this genre...

                    to continue to generalize and lump the work of ex-carpe designers into one category is as misguided as thinking the minimal/povera aesthetic will fade away with the so-called recession. there will always be a demand for artisanal clothes that are simple, durable, elegant, and refined. the point isn't to look homeless or post-apocalyptic. just look at what m.a+ or luc is doing.

                      stop splitting hair AKA, it's common knowledge that:
                      ccp = dark
                      rick = emo
                      julius = asian emo
                      carpe/ma+/luc/indysents/marvie... = homeless
                      ann = romantic
                      harnden = romantic homeless
                      and that's all, case closed.
                      and of course all are avant-garde and edgy and that's why so many szers got bad reactions from strangers in the eponymous thread

                        This is very true ,but what will be considered cool and appealing
                        it will be different.
