    Re: Bags

[quote user="electric_alyce"]When it comes to mens bags, I love my F bag.
I usually despise the usual Friis-bags, they are on "everybodys shoulders", and is in 99% of the circumstances fake. Bleugh! But the F by Friis (the mens offshot)-bags are actually nice. I don't have any pictures of mine (tried searching but found nothing, I'll try and get a picture taken) but I love it.

Not outside of Scandinavia, I reckon.

We also have a womens bag thread, check it out.

Ahuh, in scandinavia, it's Friis and LV. Not on everybody but on the "young and "hip"" ;)

They are Ok. I personally feel like the leather is flimsy, but some may say refined. It scratches VERY easily - not sure if that's your thing. They always have sales in their SoHo store - not sure how well they do.

One of my good friends has a few M0851 bags, and they look very good even after years of regular use. I think they may not initially seem like they will age well, but give them a little and they are very nice.

                Re: Bags

i picked one up today. not bad, 400 (20% off) for it. i also got this polish type stuff they demo'd there that took all the scratches off. I'm digging it so far, good minimal look

my only complaint is the lack of metal feet on the bottom, i am wondering how this will effect it break-in/wear out-wise

                      Nice.

The one in the middle reminds me of my dads old fishing bag. Ah, good memories.

some of the maxim sharov bags look pretty nice. i am pretty happy with a Motoike Leather Art shoulder bag i recently got. the (buffalo) leather seems pretty durable, but has a nice aged look to it.

                          Re: Bags

I'm looking for a leather messenger bag around the $500 mark that is big enough to fit some a4 sized notes and a sub-notebook. I'm considering either the FW08 Julius ram leather bag:

or a Jas M.B. small ZF bag in black (matte, soft or grease?). any recommendations or suggestions?

No fan of yurius but I like those.

Somebody find me a dope guidi duffel (black reverse leather or elk or whatever)that doesn't unzip itself, I don't like how it rests on the zips when in bag form in a sick shape.

Not liking the Yurius - I am all for scrunchy wrinkly, but not on the bags for some reason. I like them to hold their shape. Can't go wrong with Jas M.B. I suppose, although lately I've been disenchanted with them for some reason.

                                Re: Bags

I need a new bag - an olive rough canvas messenger got me through 5 years of uni, but has just about had it.

I think the "Old School" in large from Jas MB should do it:

Undecided on colour. I'd prefer something other than black, but it has to be versatile, so i can wear it casually / to work (dress pants& shirt + pea coat in winter)... possibly "Soft Olive" / "Old USA Brown"?. Unfortunately their website doesn't show the bag in selected colours, and i don't think there are any stockists in Sydney; so it will be a bit of a leap of faith.

                                Thoughts / recommendations anyone ? [75]
