    he is saying that altieri is deliberately and at times annoyingly reclusive, yet redeemed by quality of his offerings

    Altieri, whom i would call a militant. kinda like the osama in hiding. Just that hes a good guy rebel and drops bombs on our wallets :D.;

    The way it reads, he's saying that Altieri, like Osama, is deliberately reclusive, but Altieri, like Osama, is redeemed by what he does.

      Think you mean unlike here.

        pip is right,

        supposedly M.A+ wants to be the "stand out" label of the place they stock at. So with CCP there they are overshadowed, Mauritzio Amadei doesnt want this.

        I never liked him anyway, way too over priced, for something not of that value. And the underwear? is that a joke, going slightly pornographic to my liking. Id rather spend the little amount of money ive got one "outer clothing" then underwear

        [/quote]

        i think this is kinda ridiculous... but i guess you are right. I still dont get it.. i think its somewhat childish to behave this way as an adult person.. and i think he loses a lot of money through this marketing-strategy.. mh.

        his clothes look good i think, the only thing i dont like are the bootcuts. they suck. and i dont agree if you say he looks bad in his clothes.. i think he looks the way he wants to look, i think he is smart enough to know how he could fit his body more.. mh, perhaps better in your eyes.

            why are the down under lands so pissed/leading the death march, its rather strange...

            everybody wants to be number 1, i can totally understand him wanting to be not next to ccp. although he should personally visit h. lorenzo and find out what its like to be next to utter shit in some crap corner. i always think its better to be next to the best. sometimes everybody rubs against each other and it creates a fire.

            i got a lot of things by MA+ that blow away a lot of things by everyone else. he might be taking a few misteps but by the look of next spring he's started to get back on track. and careers are meant to be slow, minor changes, nobody has the balls here to tell RO to fuck himself.

              Re: + (Maurizio Amadei)

              I would agree that every store buyer buys from the designer?s collection on what they like and what they think would sell. Sometimes their selections do not represent the story or theme of the Designer. So their clients only see a small part of the collection. Merchandising is also very important to showcase the designer. Often times merchandising next to another designer should complement each other or to have the same or similar aesthetics. A designer should stay true to their aesthetics and strengths. With Amadei, it would be his use of experimental materials with form and structure. Sometimes the results are amazing and sometimes it misses. But at least he is being creative and being true to himself. I don?t think he cares what others think? He just wants to create. You can love it or leave it. At least you?d have to admire his point of view.

                m.a+ industrial strength cotton coat with detachable shawl. A great example of his use of experimental materials, form and structure all rolled into one.Being able to cover my ears on these cold southern hemisphere winter mornings is paramount for me. I'm loving this piece.

                    When did Amadei start in with the women's gear? I have to say the coat is pretty fucking sweet. I want to see more.

                      saw some of the s/s09. i hate to say it, but from what i had seen (mind you it wasn't too many pieces) he's lost his edge. i see the same pieces rehashed again and again, but with stagnation rather than more innovation.

                                i only saw a few pics on lift. probably the same coat that you saw. yes they were really small pics but they looked phenomenal. i think it's for a/w 08-09. i'm pretty confident that a well-chosen buy for a/w 08-09 could really change some current conceptions about m.a+ clothing. though i haven't seen a lot in-store, i'll reserve my judgment, but i'm definitely hopeful and excited for it. l'eclaireur in a week so i'll give a report of the m.a+ i see there.
