Thoughts? Would this just turn into a giant fight? Probably?

edit - ima just make my own list, feel free to add your thoughts...

Anyone try anything in the Roja Dove line lately?

I just got a sample of Danger extrait, it's a very nice classic masculine... seems inspired by vintage Bel Ami, which is one of my favorites so it is to my taste.

A few of the others look interesting too....

I tried the entire line at Jovoy in Paris recently. The only thing which really blows my mind and warrants the price tag is the Diaghilev extrait.

By the way... Anyone check out the new Frederic Malle EdP scent called Eau de Magnolia? Other than the magnolia accord, it seems relatively promising.

I haven't yet sniffed any, but look forward to it,

Not yet. From what I've heard from a store carrying the Malle line, it should be coming in June.

I believe it's 6+ months since I asked last time..

What's the status on the rick fragrance?
I do not recognise the vessel,
but the eyes seem so familiar

Good additions! I would add Chinatown by Bond to your Sweet category.

i smelled it on someones neck , didnt get to spray it on myself . it reminds me of kilians water calligraphy , its fresh and watery but not aquatic in the "blue " sense at all , more like wet and floral but not a big white floral . i dont think ive ever smelled a magnolia , least not knowingly , so i wasnt sure what the magnolia by itself was supposed to smell like . i was told its the perfume version of jurassic flower (same nose ) and id say thats mostly accurate . the vibes i got were fresh , clean , floral , watery . the girl that has a sample of it said it reminded her of cristalle

I was going to say that I recalled one of the candles being based on magnolia. Magnolia isn't the most interesting flower frankly...it's lovely on the tree, but perfume renditions tend to play up the fresh-dewy elements, as they do with lilac, which tend to come across as aquatic and ozonic...recalling the nightmare-90's (L'Eau d'Issey et al).

I'd hazard a guess that it will be in the style of En Passant, minus the bread note.

It's not surprising it's so incredible, as Roja Dove has again does what he does best and has "paid tribute" to a classic from the past, in this case the original classic formulation of Mitsouko. I also have it on good authority that he said to hell with the IFRA and utilized real Oakmoss.

It is rather pricey though at 1,000 Euro a pop

I found a 2mL sample of Diaghilev for $50 on ebay, but think I will pass on this one. I understand the need to make a profit but 1000 Euro is going too far for me!

I think Danger is really good and something I would wear but I already have M and vintage Bel Ami, I don't want to drop $400 on it.

It is cool Roja is making frags as a tribute to the old classics, would be nice if the prices were more reasonable though.

Vintage Bel Ami is one of my favorites.... I just got a massive 6.5 oz (200 mL) bottle.
