Given the degree to which members here like "darker, woodier" scents, you guys HAVE to try some of the Montale Aouds. Black Aoud, White Aoud, and Steam Aoud are especially lovely.

For spring/summer, Aoud Lime and Aoud Queen Roses are really nice.

I love the Aoud note... just a shame it's so hard to get and expensive. :(

Quartz with its threads of brilliantly coloured minerals

Gold as found in its natural and pure state, mythical and magical, but how would this smell?

I love this fragrance because you can't over do it. And it works amazingly to quelch any errant body odors one might have... :p at least in my case.

I wear this one religiously, but I am interested in the stephen jones new one for CDG. He said it was supposed to smell like space....? Odeur 53 is also lurking in my radar because of the note of "warm photocopier ink". That smell takes me back..!

Recently, I was given a bottle of CDG "Tea leaves" by a friend of mine. He's had it since it originally first came out from about 10 years ago. It's of course stale as hell, but the result is this strange clinical bacon smell. it smells like someone took bacon to the dentist, and had him wrap it in flouride foam.

Now, I find this smell completely facastinating for some reason but everyone else has forced me to bathe immediately after applying.

      Think Anchorman and Sex Panther.

Anyone else experience any oddities with stale CDG cologne? =p

I need helping picking a fragrance for the boyfriend. We've tried a bunch together but he won't tell me exactly which one he wants so it's up to me to decide

I know he likes something on the fresher side and not too weird. The winner among mainstream fragrances was Burberry Touch, I also know he loves it when I wear the standard Dior Homme, but that's my fragrance!

I want to get something from CB I Hate Perfume because I love the concept and the price is right, plust it'll give me a chance to get some samples for myself from lucky scent.

Does anyone have any recommendations for CB scents on the fresher side?
From the description "In the Summer Kitchen" and "Memory of Kindness" and "At the Beach" sound good but I"m afraid the first two might be too herbacious. I was also considering "In the Library" cause he's a bookworm.

Any help with CB I hate Perfumes or other scents that might fit the bill would be appreciated!

Unfortunately I currently live in Ohio or I would definitely go to the store and check it out. Hope to be back on the east coast fall 2009...
Looking at the description for "Just Breath" sounds good now too, somebody help me!

          • In the Summer Kitchen would work! Memory of kindness has a coarse freshness from the tomato plant, and might be too weird for him, but it's definetly fresh. I'd go for the first.

Went to CB today. I have to say, I can't share your enthusiasm, CB fanatics. I thought some of them were Ok, but nothing there that struck me as awesome. I did get a bottle of Black March, it smells good. I do get his philosophy though after spending the time in the shop - it really isn't perfume in conventional sense. They are just scents that do recreate other smells and are not synthesized for the sake of creating something artificial.

On a positive note - my wife and I had a lot of fun smelling the essential oils, which you could by individually. It would be cool to mix them and see what happens (I'd totally do it if I were rich).

I've been having fun trying out a bunch of CDG fragrances after ordering 7 samples from luckyscent (I'll post a review later).

So far I really love Odeur 53 (Palisander is a close 2nd). I want to buy it but I don't really want to pay $120. So, is buying "unboxed" tester bottles a good way to save or is it a bad idea? I found what appears to be a great deal here.

Does anyone have experience doing this or with this site in particular? I don't mind if the bottle is already opened at these savings but I'm always dubious of a good deal...

Odeur 53 is $120 now? Jeez. It was $85 last time I looked (5 years ago, granted :-)). It's a nice scent, casem. I used to have the the travel size (not sure if they still make it), until I went to St. Petersburg and my friend there fell in love with it, so I gave it to him.
