i usually spray once on each side of my neck near my pulse point. and then a third time on my wrist, which i rub against my other wrist.

i have also heard that rubbing it tends to destroy the scent particles, so i dont rub on my neck, only my wrist, because i think 4 sprays is a bit excessive.

as for CdG Red, the only one I have sampled, and which i quite like, is Sequoia.

Concur. As for applying fragrance, I do the same Casem does.

      • I apply spray with a single shower over my neck, and if it's just perfume bottles i dab a couple of times in each pulse dimple.

if you ever tried rubbing were you place the perfume, and compare it to if you don't it does reveal a huge difference. rubbing crushes the bigger molecules which stay longer, aka, the bottom notes, and gives a sharper emptier scent.

I just got these two which combined are more than dreamy

        and

which has a very green almost fig-leaf like scent, coming from red and black pepper, ginger, lime and anise. It gives a shimmer and lushness to the sweet and dark smoke scent and is absolutely amaaaaazing.

Palisander is awesome. Harissa (also red series) is also worth a shot.
Yeah the 3 noted so far are the ones I like best from the red series, palisander, harissa, and sequoia

                    My favorite has to be
                    Czech & Speake no 88.
                    Fantastic and dark.
Also of course Voleur de Roses, Mechant Loup and
                    Creeds Silver Mountain Water.
Another one i been using a lot lately is Penhaligons Endymion.
But that's probably only 'cause i love Keats
                    And Creeds virgin island water.
There's something nicely disturbing with smelling like coconut.

BTW, for the New Yorkers, this store on Lafayette (right behind old Atelier) has a full line up of Santa Maria di Novella. Highly recommended.

                        Santa Maria Novella sounds great.
                        Firenze!

                        Have you tried Carthusia?
Some really nice scents originally from the monastery of st. Giacomo, Capri.
The Carthusia Uomo version is great.
Classy male scent with hints of raspberry.

You know where to get SMNovella in Europe, or online?
Ordering from U.S means being hit by customs and tax on almost all orders...
Did a quick search, and the SMN site doesn't seem to be up yet but maybe someone has something reliable to recommed.

SMN has a store pretty much in every major city in the world, or at least a dept/speciality store that carries it.

I have heard of Carthusia, but haven't tried anything.

The only one I've tried is Nostalgia. I like it, but it's not something I reach for often.
