Would you say this of Patchouli 24?

I have an aversion to the name Patchouli and straight Patchouli oil from years of smelling it at goth clubs.

I almost bought Heeley Cedre Blanc instead of Nightscape and now I've heard it's been discontinued.

Patchouli 24 smells like smoked ham.

Heeley's leather is fantastic. Cuir Pleine Fleur.

Really? Since I don't eat ham I probably don't want to smell like it.

Anyone make something that smells primarily like Lapsang Souchong?

No, Patchouli 24 is one of the few exceptions in the Le Labo line...along with Bergamote, Iris, and possibly Oud.

...it smells nothing of patchouli btw...not even a bit, just a smokey, peculiar leather. If you're not averse to it, the oil that LL sells is fantastic and much cheaper than the EDT. Takes a bit more effort to rub on your arms, etc., but good for the budget-conscious.

And yes, Cedre Blanc is tricky to find these days...it didn't sell well.

Regardless of what anyone says (including me!), it's always worth trying something for yourself. Smell is a very sensitive and subjective subject.

Bvlgari Black smells exactly like Lapsang Souchong to me (same perfumer as Patchouli 24 as well).

Thanks Castor and Dane. Now I just have to find a shop in NYC with a good selection and sales people that I can tolerate.

You can smell both the Le Labo and the Heeley at Barney's. Bvlgari can be had from any major department store/Sephora.

Bulgari Black is great and cheap. Just ignore the brand.

A friend actually gave that to me and I gave it away before I even opened the box.

I did a search and came up with Cartier's XIII LA TREIZIÈME HEURE which sounds almost perfect, but again I'd have to try and ignore the name.

Smells like a watered down Duel (Annick Goutal)...itself already pretty watered down.

This is absolutely one of my favorite mass market scents.

Dane, what do you think of Annick Goutal? I used to give La Petite Cherie to every ex-girlfriend and female friend

Also, what do you think of Antonia's Flowers? I really like Floret.

Black is my go-to when giving gifts...smells great on everyone.

Goutal has a few great scents, but since the citrus restrictions were put into place recently, many of the original scents are not the same. Otherwise, Songes, Passion, Duel, Mandragore, and Sables are all terrific.

I've not tried Floret, but the original Antonia's Flower is terrific...for a man or a woman.

Give Floret a whirl, in the perfume version.

May I recommend to any perfumes lovers on a next trip to Paris to visit:
SENS UNIQUE , 13 Rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004 PARIS (Marais)
They are specialists in "Niche" perfumes and really have a great great choice of rare brands.
You can also have a look to their website: www.sensuniqueparis.com
The 2 young ladies care about you with an incredible patience as long as you need and know a lot about fragrances.
One very good thing as well is that the store is open until 9pm every day!
I discovered quite a lot of brands I did not know or never had the chance to find out before . I could have bought so many frangrances I falled in love with, if not the price for all of them!
I finally went for an MDCI perfume for me and an OLFACTIVE STUDIO for my father's birthday.
Will return soon for some PIERRE GUILLAUME, XERJOFF and for the best OUD I ever tried until now: OUD (Les Nombres D'Or) by MONA DI ORIO.
