Re: Fernando Pessoa--The Green Dress
i went to yoji store--nothing even comes close to eloquent wenders description

a lot of corny stuff--pigeons on jackets....where is poetry?

decent ruff cardigan....and ugly shiny pin ....eeeee

where is wenders ' yoji ?
I tried on a Yohji spring coat last month. The moment my arms slipped through the sleeves and the coat fell carelessly onto my shoulders, something was different. I looked in the mirror, and I can only describe it as something like what Wim Wenders said in the description you are referring to.

It may sound unreal, but for me it was a genuine revelation. I bought it, and wore it that night. I felt so at ease with myself. Serene.

Sure, it doesn't happen with all of his items, but I can say for me, yes, it really does exist.

I've missed this thread. From our favorite businessman:

Thanks for bumping this up gerry. This one's been posted before somewhere but for some reason I remembered it.

"I played with notions of bad taste and then did them the Comme des Garçons way. Of course, bad taste done by Comme des Garçons becomes good taste." Rei Kawakubo

Found this brilliant quote from Ann Demeulemeester in a scan of Doingbird # 14 where she gives the most amazing description of her view on jewerly.

Click for image

Jewels are created from and for the heart
they transmit emotions
and evoke another form of beauty
they are mysterious -strong or fragile -
they intrigue...
the particularity of this neckpiece is
that you don't know where the jewel ends
or where the garment begins...
the energy of being wrapped in black glass stones...

also along those lines...

The less fashion she wears,
the more beautiful she is.
It is like a uniform.

Giorgio Armani
...I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.

thought this one needed to be added here,

"Maybe we need something modest, something which makes a profit.”
